Our Team
150+ Years of Combined Experience
Deep expertise across industrial sectors. Real people with direct contact information, not a generic inbox.
Jeff Briese
Executive Vice President
30+ years across the full spectrum of industrial machinery: CNC machining centers, fabrication equipment, plastics, aerospace, food processing, and complete plant closures. Banks, trustees, and corporate sellers call Jeff first because he knows the equipment, knows the buyers, and knows how to maximize recovery in any market condition.
Tim Pfister
Vice President of Auctions & Appraisals, Licensed Auctioneer
USPAP certified, AMEA accredited, and licensed nationwide as an auctioneer. Tim's USPAP-compliant appraisals are accepted by courts, the IRS, and every major bank in the country. When a situation requires both appraisal precision and auction execution, he handles both. He works live and online auctions from the block and personally performs on-site field inspections of the equipment.
Shannon Treger
Vice President of Operations, Licensed Auctioneer
Shannon oversees every sale from initial consultation through final settlement: coordinating teams, managing timelines, and ensuring sellers get a transparent, professional process start to finish. A licensed auctioneer with deep operational expertise, he is the reason KD auctions run on time and on budget. Sellers who work with Shannon know their assets are in capable hands.
Michael Treger
Founder
Founded KD Auctions in 1996 with Arlene Treger. Over 30 years, Michael built the firm from a single transaction into a nationally recognized industrial auction company. He remains actively engaged in significant client relationships, major engagements, and the strategic direction of the business.
Arlene Treger
Sr. Administration, Accounting, Compliance & Operations
Co-founder. Arlene has been the backbone of the KD group of companies from day one, managing administration, accounting, compliance, and operations with the institutional knowledge that only comes from building something from the ground up.
Jill Chadwell
Marketing, Customer Service, Invoicing, Collections & Auction Administration
Jill keeps every auction running. She coordinates marketing, bidder registration, and logistics, and she is a primary point of contact for buyers and sellers throughout the sale. Jill also manages invoicing and collections, so every auction settles cleanly and goes out on time with nothing missed.
Aaron Levine
Auction Setup, Lotting & Checkout Coordination
Aaron is the hands-on force behind every KD auction. He handles the write-ups, cataloging, and lotting, and organizes each facility for a clean, safe, and efficient sale and removal. His real edge is one that only comes with experience: knowing how to lot smaller items to capture full value without turning removal and shipping into a nightmare. Once the sale closes, Aaron coordinates buyer checkout, releases lots as payments clear, assists with collections, and works to place unsold items. Buyers and sellers deal with him through the most hands-on stages of every sale, and they consistently come away praising how smoothly he runs it.
Peter Lenstrohm
Licensed Appraiser, Appraisals, Bank/Lender Services & Rolling Stock
Peter is KD's licensed appraiser and the firm's point person for bank and lender services. His USPAP-compliant valuations are trusted by courts, lenders, and regulators, covering Forced Liquidation Value (FLV), Orderly Liquidation Value (OLV), and Fair Market Value (FMV), done right and documented right. He also handles rolling stock, from trucks and trailers to yard and transport equipment, where accurate values and clean paperwork matter just as much. When a lender or trustee needs a defensible number they can stand behind, Peter delivers it.
Michael Basham
General Plant & Machinery, Special Situations
Michael Basham is the person KD turns to when a situation is complicated. Distressed assets, tight court or lender timelines, partial plants, and deals with a lot of moving parts are where he does his best work. Across general plant and machinery of every kind, he brings the judgment that only comes from years of navigating hard situations and getting them closed. Sellers and their advisors count on him to bring order to complexity and keep a difficult engagement moving to a clean result.
Travis Butterly
VP, Fabrication & Machinery
Travis is KD's go-to specialist for all things fabrication: press brakes, laser cutters, ironworkers, welding cells, waterjet machines, turret punch presses, shears, plasma cutters, roll formers, tube benders, and structural steel equipment. Whether it's a single fabrication cell or an entire sheet metal operation, Travis knows the market, knows the buyers who will pay the most, and knows exactly what moves. Banks and trustees rely on him for accurate valuations and fast liquidations in the fabrication sector.
Sean Reid
VP, Plastics & Processing Machinery
Sean is a veteran of the used plastic process equipment market, with injection molding machinery as his particular area of expertise. His range extends across extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, and the auxiliary and material-handling equipment that runs alongside them. From a single press to a complete molding plant, he knows the market, knows which buyers will pay the most, and knows exactly what moves and what does not. Banks, trustees, and corporate sellers rely on Sean for accurate valuations and clean, fast liquidations in the plastics sector.
Janice Gossage
Compliance, Licensing & Auction Administration
Janice manages the compliance and administrative side of every sale: lien releases, licensing, and tax compliance, along with day-to-day auction administration. It is exacting, behind-the-scenes work, and she makes sure it is handled correctly every time.
