Who We Are
KD Auctions (K.D. Capital Auctions, LLC) is a family-owned industrial auctioneer and machinery liquidation firm founded by Michael and Arlene Treger in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1996. For nearly 30 years, the firm has specialized in the appraisal, auction, and liquidation of industrial equipment: serving banks, secured lenders, bankruptcy trustees, receivers, corporate owners, and private equity firms across the United States.
The company operates two channels for asset recovery: KD Auctions, which handles managed online industrial auctions, and KD Machinery, a direct-sale marketplace listing individual machines and equipment lots to retail buyers willing to pay above-auction-day pricing. This dual-channel model consistently delivers higher recovery than single-channel auctioneers. Both brands share ownership with KD Capital Equipment (kdcapital.com), the same family of companies serving machinery buyers and sellers since 1996.
KD holds AMEA (Association of Machinery & Equipment Appraisers) certification, MDNA (Machinery Dealers National Association) membership, and NABT (National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees) membership. All machinery appraisals are USPAP-compliant and prepared to the standards required by federally regulated lenders, bankruptcy courts, and the SBA.
The firm's auction platform reaches over 500,000 registered industrial buyers across North America, delivering competitive bidding and documented commercially reasonable sales that satisfy secured lender and court requirements.
What Sets KD Apart
Family-Owned Accountability
The founders take personal responsibility for every engagement. There are no account managers or handoffs. The same senior team that appraises your assets runs the auction and delivers your settlement.
Two-Channel Recovery
Assets that will achieve retail pricing go to KD Machinery for direct sale. Assets better suited to competitive auction go to the online platform. The right channel is chosen per lot, maximizing total recovery.
Institutional-Grade Documentation
USPAP-compliant appraisals, per-lot settlement statements, buyer registration records, and commercially reasonable sale documentation: everything lenders, trustees, and courts require.
Nearly 30 Years of Market Intelligence
Nearly three decades of transaction data across virtually every industrial sector: CNC machining, aerospace, automotive, food processing, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, and more. Real market knowledge, not database estimates.
